In addition to housing a permanent photography exhibition as well as collections of American, Chinese, European, and contemporary art, the Norton Museum hosts various rotating exhibitions throughout the year. From mid-April to early July 2017, the museum is showing the Pen to Paper exhibit, which will feature artists’ handwritten letters from the Smithsonian’s collection. Those who visit the exhibition will see the handwriting and correspondence of many renowned artists, including Winslow Homer, Georgia O’Keefe, and Mary Cassatt.
Later in 2017, the Norton Museum of Art will host Earth Works, an exhibit highlighting the unique work of artist and photographer Justin Brice Guariglia. The exhibit, which will run from early September to mid-January of 2018, will feature aerial images that Guariglia took while flying over Greenland with NASA scientists. Over 30 of Guariglia’s images will be on display to showcase the changing of the Earth’s surface.
